The Boys & Girls Club was the site of the Third Youth Leadership 3-on-3 Hoops Tourney and the "Kansas" team from Ansonia came away with the title. They toppled the "Duke" team by a close 25-21 score as Vince Dellavolpe hit a 3 pointer with Duke trailing by just point at 22-21. The Kansas team had also used a 3 pointer to beat "North Carolina" 26-23 in the semi-finals after knocking out the Raiders 26-15 in the quarter-finals. Duke had rolled past Playaz 25-8 and UCONN 26-19 on their way to the finals.
The real winner for the night was the Brad Rush Fund as the proceeds raised from the tournament were added to the funds previously raised in the "Battle of the Bands" which was also run by the Youth Leadership program as part of the Valley River Celebration.
