Tele-Media Cable parlayed wins in Darts and
Mini-golf and strong participation in all events into the 2001 Griffin Hospital Community Corporate
Cup Championship.
Defending Champion Plastic Molding Technology finished second
after winning the Healthy Team event to jump two places in the
standings. Another former champion, TEAM, Inc. finished a half
point behind PMT in third place. Spectrum Plastics
finished fourth and former champion Birmingham Group Health
Services took fifth. Check out the

This was the 11th straight
year that Valley United Way and the
 Valley YMCA
teamed up to provide an opportunity for area
employers to improve fitness and quality
of life among their employees while building company morale and showing community
support. Griffin
Hospital was once again the name sponsor. Griffin CEO Patrick Charmel strengthened
the Healthy Team competition with a new cardiac screening
procedure and an expanded Stress Reduction
program to complement the successful Healthy Meal program.
The Corporate Cup features a variety of events anchored by the
Healthy Team competition. Healthy Team members are pre-screened
for a variety of health indicators at Griffin Hospital and then
spend the next three months participating in a variety of
healthy activities before returning to Griffin for a post-event
evaluation. Free healthy meals and stress reduction workshops
are also offered during the course of the event.
Other events in the series include darts, bowling, horseshoes, miniature golf and billiards. Event
venues are all across the Valley. The Series concluded
