United Illuminating Does It
Again
Evidently, they take their bowling very seriously at
United Illuminating as they demolished the competition while winning the
Corporate Cup Bowling Tournament for the third straight year - and the
fourth time in the last five! U.I. won by a whooping 285 pin margin over
closest rival Gordon Rubber which posted a very respectable score of 2019.
Jim Varney paced the winning team with a 618 triple and a
single game high of 230 as UI posted game scores of 750, 775 and 779.
Gordon Rubber finished 39 pins in front of third place
finisher Tele-Media Cable. Tele-Media nosed out Plastic Molding Technology
#1 by only 7 pins. Griffin Hospital's Engineers + 1 team rounded out the
top five finishers among the 26 teams that competed this year.
Bob Bowns of Plastic Molding Technology was the top
individual bowlere on the day as he had a high single of 262 and the high
triple as well with a 670 total.
