Perkin Elmer is the Healthiest!
Ed Skvoarc and Skander Benayed as their win is announced at the awards
reception.
Perkin Elmer walked away with the title of "healthiest" in
the 2004 Community Corporate Cup as Ed Skvorac and Skander Benayed
accumulated 136 points to top the field by seven points. Valley United
Way's Jack Walsh and Jane Snaider finished secone at 129 points just
four points ahead of Tele-Media's team of Liz Kennard and Steve
Vicchitto. Thirty-five teams started the competition, and 23 completed
all the requirements of the event.
The Healthy Team event awards participants with points for
a variety of healthy activities over the course of three months.
Participants are pre-screened at Griffin Hosptial for a variety of
health factors at the start of the event. At the conclusion, they are
tested again and earn additional points for improvement in the factors
in addition to their participation points. The real awards come in the
form of lower weight, cholesterol and blood pressure scores and a much
healthier life style. We congratulate everyone who participated for
taking a positive step to a healthy life!
In a side competition,
Mayors Jim DellaVolpe and Marc Garofalo's extremely busy schedules
didn't bode well for their successful participation, and they will soon
be treating United Way's Jack Walsh and Jane Snaider and Tele-Media's
Bill Dunlop and Liz Kennard to a healthy lunch as Walsh and Snaider
topped the three team field.
