Mayors Join Forces As Healthy Team!

 Normally athletic competition is a friendly dividing line between Valley towns, but the Community Corporate Cup Healthy Team competition provided an opportunity for Derby Mayor Marc Garofalo (L) and Ansonia Mayor Jim DellaVolpe to team up and take some of the stress out of the every day routine of leading their respective communities. Competing under the banner of the Valley Council of Governments, the two mayors were a team in the Healthy Team competition. The dynamic duo completed their pretest at Griffin Hospital, and in a gesture of camaraderie, Mayor DellaVolpe was noticeably dressed in a a bright Derby red t-shirt while Mayor Garofalo was wearing Ansonia blue shorts!

The mayors participation was spiced up by a challenge from the Tele-Media team of Bill Dunlop and Liz Kennard and United Way's own team of Jack Walsh and Jane Snaider. Who won the friendly competition? Click here to find out.
