Butterfly Garden outside Ansonia Nature Center Interpretive Center

The Ansonia Nature Center is located in the northeast corner of the City of Ansonia, and encompasses 104 acres of woodland, pond, streams and old fields. Once an active dairy farm, it is now typical of a successional New England countryside. All last week, volunteers from Valley United Way descended on the property to help refurbish some of the trails. Thanks!!

Volunteer Views

This was just the latest in a series of special group volunteer projects that have been bringing together hundreds of employees of area corporations to improve life in the Valley. However, this was the first "outdoors" project. Previous projects have renovated a number of buildings providing community services, but this was the first environmental project.

The project is being coordinated by Valley United Way's Volunteer Action Center. Go there to learn more about previous projects.
