A year ago, Valley United Way's Jane Snaider and Jack
Walsh finished second in the Healthy Team competition, and this year
they did just a little bit better - they finished first! They racked up
an impressive score of 148 points by picking up just about every
participation point available - including maintaining or improving on
their 2004 results during the pre-test in March. They needed every point
as the Spectrum Plastics team of Mary Freeman and Marita Rodrigues
finished second with 143 points. Their second place finish proved to be
the difference as Spectrum Plastics won the entire 2005 Community
Corporate Cup. Tracy Contreras and Jennifer Marques of Birmingham Group
came in third with 139 points. Bill Lesko and Linda Ferro placed fourth
for DiMatteo Insurance while Jennifer Gamble and Kim Kornsteadt of
Curtiss Ryan Honda rounded out the top five.
In addition to the team scores, there were many great
individual results recorded as weight was shed and cholesterol, body fat
and blood pressures scores plummeted. In all, everyone who participated
in the Healthy Team event is a winner!
