Snookers

Ray Wrigley, Jr. (L) and Ray Wrigley formed a winning father/son combination in this year's billiard's tournament. More pictures here.

Ray Wrigley needed a new partner in his quest to have Gordon Rubber repeat as Billiards champs, and he didn't have to go very far to find his son Ray Wrigley, Jr. It proved to be a brilliant move as the father/son combo topped the field in the tournament. The duo beat off a strong threat from Spectrum Plastics which placed two teams in the Final Four and a finalist team made up of John Wilson and Fred Beermeunder . Along the way to the title, the Wrigleys defeated Curtiss Ryan Honda, CDW-G, Spectrum #2 and Wilson and Beermeunder by a 2-0 margin in the title round.

Spectrum #1 qualified for the championship by knocking off Birmingham Group Health Services #1, Tele-Media #2, Griffin Hospital and TEAM A. TEAM A and Spectrum #2 finished in a tie for third.

Spectrum can take solace in knowing that their strong overall finish has moved them into first place in the overall race for the 2005 Cup!
